A magnificent pair of Antique Cow Horn and Leather Chairs
The chairs are African in origin, they are heavy and very sturdy, not to mention extremely comfortable
The legs arms and back of the chairs are made with large horns which are over 5” across, the joints are bound in leather and platted leather twines, the seat also has a mesh of the platted leather. ( a very African method of fabrication)
This pair has been used but is absolutely sound, they have an authentic aged hunting lodge look
The chairs date from the 1900s they are 33” high at the back, 28” wide at the elbow and 29” deep from back to front, (seat height12”)

This is a superb quality heavy weight set of Dining chairs by Gillows
The set has 2 carver and 6 single chairs, they are upholstered in Dark Red Leather with brass studs decorating the high arched back and the edge around the seat. The chairs have carved baluster legs and they are fully stretchered to make them sturdy.
The high backs are padded and the seats are sprung making this a very comfortable set, just the thing for a long family dinner
All the chairs are very sound with no loose joints or breaks, they are very good quality and have been well looked after, the turnings of one of the carver chairs is slightly different to the others, but it is a good match. The leather is in very good condition, it has no tears or serious scuffs just a few signs of day to day use
The carver chairs are 43” high at the back, they are 23” across the front, the singles are 41” high and 19” wide across, seats are 19” high

This is a good quality set of Cromwellian style chairs made by Maple & Co, the Oak frames have bobbin turned stretcher on the front and turned uprights
The set has two carver chairs and four singles, the seats and backs are covered in heavy quality Soft Brown Hide and are studded with brass studs.
The leather is original and very soft to the touch, there are very few signs of wear, no tears or rips, the chairs do have a country house slightly shabby look, and one has a mark on the leather seat
The Carver Chairs are 34”high at the back and 23" wide, the other chairs are 34”high at the back, 19” wide and have a seat height of 19" (48cm)

This very tall chair is a superb and intricately carved piece, unusually the chair is carved on both back and front so intended to be viewed from all sides, the carved detail is extraordinary. The arm rests have the bearded faces of wise men, the feet at the bottom have the tiny claws of a mythical animal, in addition there are cherubs, vases and swags of flowers
The chair back has superbly turned barley twist columns matching the legs and stretchers, and the edges of the seats are also carved, the top rail is carved to match the front stretcher
The chair is in very good condition it has a simple drop in seat with new plush velvet upholstery, this would be very easy to change if the colour is not your preference
The Chair is 58” high at the back, 26” wide and 24” deep the seat is 27” high

This a great find, we have a set of these charming antique west Midlands Chairs, they all have elm plank seats and with spindled backs
The chairs are sound, some of them show signs of old woodworm as to be expected in chairs of this age, one has shrinkage in the seat but it is sound there is no movement so it is best left in its original state.
This does not affect the structure in any way and enhances their authenticity, on close inspection there are very slight variances in the chairs but this was probably because they were made by different craftsmen in the same work shop
The seats of the chairs are 17” high, the backs are 35” high and they are 18” wide across the front

Chair has a vey nice patina, it is made in Walnut and Beech , there is an old repair on one of the arms, and signs of a bracket on the side of the seat which is no longer present

This beautiful carved walnut chair, it come with its own original petit point embroidered upholstery
The chair dates from around 1880, the fabric is in muted colours with a central urn overflowing with fruit and flowers
The chair has beautifully shaped shepherds crook arms and legs with acanthus carving, matching the broad front stretcher, the bottom stretchers are a beautifully twisted barley twist
The seats and chair backs are brass studied and sprung, they are sound the upholstery is sound with a slightly faded look
The chair backs are 44” high, the front is 27” wide, 25” deep
