A superb piece showing the wonderful craftsmanship of the brass workers
This hardwood chest is decorated with brass, studs and fretwork
Dowry chests like this were often used in the export of spices, rugs, and silks to the West
The chest has iron carrying handles, a candle compartment inside and a brass hasp which can be used to hold a lock
The chest is 15” high, 33” long and 18” wide
