A Carved Oriental Camphor Wood Chest
This is a Beautiful Carved Chest is made from Camphor Wood, for those of you who do not know camphor wood it looks a lot like Mahogany it is a hard wood which lends itself very well to carving.
However the main reason for using camphor wood is its fragrance it smells a bit like Eucalyptus and this most attractive of smells repels moths hence its common use in the best quality Blanket Boxes
The carvings are of Chinese ships, Towns and of course fire breathing dragons, the chest is carved on every side, it stands on bracket style feet and has a large brass clasp on the front and the interior is clean
The Chest is 40” long x 23” high and 20” deep
