A 17th Century Oak Housekeepers or Cloakroom Cupboard
The Cupboard has a central panel between two large doors, enclosing a deep hanging cupboard with the more modern addition of a Wooden hanging rail, below the doors on the front there are three dummy drawers which disguise the true depth of the cupboard and beneath these there are 3 normal drawers at the bottom
The cupboard has a very attractive patina, it has original brass fittings and unusual blacksmith made butterfly hinges for the doors and it stands on stile feet
All in all this is piece is in good condition considering its great age there are old repairs as you would expect, it had been attacked by wood worm, this has been treated but it has left scars on the back and floor of the cupboard
The cupboard stands 72” high it is 59” wide and 20”deep, and it comes into 2 for transportation
