Oak Monks Bench Settle, Hall table
This unusual piece is known as a Monks Bench, it is fact a settle with storage compartment inside the seat and the back of the bench can be pulled over, it then rests on the on the top of the arms making a vey useful hall table with an 1� thick table top
A great idea and very useful, especially where space is limited and both seat and a table are needed
The bottom of the settle is made from an 18th Century Coffer and the arms and table top were added in the 19th Century
A lovey piece in good sound condition, it is 30� high as a table and 40� high as settle, it is 46� wide and 20� deep
