18th Century French Country Winery Beam Spike
French Country Winery Beam Spike (also known as Sticking Tommy when used in a Mine in other countries )
Pieces like this have been made for hundreds of years, the spike at the end is driven into the wall of the Wine Cave to support a candle, this was very necessary in the days when candle was the only light that could be taken down in to the cellar
The Beam Spike is made from Vine Root with a hand beaten brass sconce
The Beam spike is 14” long and 3” by 3”
